Grimmhild lives on a small farmstead close to a small farming village near Jorvik. Her husband was an itinerant craftsman, often out traveling to outlying villages and farmsteads. He died after a fall and there is suspicion that it may not have been accidental. Grimmhild has three daughters that live in the village and visit frequently with their children. Her son is also an itinerant craftsman and goes on trading expeditions in the summer. He helps with the heavy farm work when he is home.
Grimmhild supplements her income by making simples and other items from her gardens, healing, and by dying woolens and linens from the weavers in Jorvik. She does not have servants or slaves as she prefers to live alone and her family helps with things that need done.
