Küsi's Battle Gear:

Museum Replica's Nasel HelmMuseum Replica's Nasel Helm Küsi purchased this Museum Replica's Nasal Helm and wanted to modify it to look more appropriate for the Viking period. He then cut the steel aventail off and added riveted iron maille to replace it.

Kusi made his scabbard of maple and leather. He also lined the inside with wool cloth to keep the steel from the wood, which helps in keeping it from rusting. With Farman's help they added the leather chape and hilt cap, which has a belt loop attached to the back.

The Sword is made by "Armor Class".

  Kusi's shield

Kusi's new shield is built with forged nails mounting the grip. Eyelets with rings located on each end of the grip are attachment points for a guige strap, to sling the shield on long marches. He chose to leave the shield without a linen cover to save time. As a result, the shield splinters and vibrates when he receives a blow.

Kusi forged this sax and made the sheath Kusi's sax, a close combat weapon, has better leverage than a sword for piercing ringmail. The sax is also a defensive weapon. (This one is "rebated" or made dull, for display combat.) He forged it from raw iron, and made the sheath and hardware for mounting the blade.
