Forged Iron Work
Got my new forge up and running and started playing around with several sizes of iron penannular broaches.
Then I made a fire striker...
And a passel more. All of those wound up as gifts! Now to the right, I made some arrowheads and you also see a knife blade with a narrow tang. It will have a wooden handle forced onto the tang by heating the tang red hot and forcing it onto the shaft! You can see some finished knives in another part of my gallery.
I tried my hand a making a pair of snips. They work pretty well. Quite an education getting the blades right but now you will be able to see them used in camp. Then there are always more fire strikers to be made, arrowheads and camp knives! The knife in this picture can be seen in the previous picture without it's wooden handle.
